Advocacy

The next decade will decide the future for humanity.
Cities can act responsibly today by joining Cities pedal to Net Zero

At Neo Era Infotech we work with local State & Central government body to promote cycling with our project "Go Green Go Cycling" which is a social impact initiative pertaining to green & active urban mobility to promote cycling as a sport & sustainable mode of urban transport across India. We educate and promote the fact that urban bicycle culture will lead us to sustainability & enable us to create Cities of Future.

In the post COVID-19 era, green mobility can play a crucial role in remodelling inclusive communities & cities by inspiring people to think and act differently in order to live in greater harmony with our planet for a sustainable future thereby encouraging collaborative solutions and igniting long-term partnerships for the benefit of all.

Let’s look at the climate crisis as the defining problem of our time. It's already here. Huge droughts, wildfires, floods and extreme heat making larger parts of our planet uninhabitable. As we emerge from the pandemic, carbon emissions tend to rise again, thereby threatening a possibility of a sustainable future.

Therefore, we urge people to abandon the use of fossil fuels and adopt responsible measures to achieve net zero emissions by 2030. We are constantly putting our efforts to encourage people to preserve our environment. We feel that only informed citizen can keep the worst of the crisis at bay.

"Decarbonizing our Cities- By green urban mobility ecosystem for a better life."

  • By 2050, 68% of the world's population is expected to live in a city & in India the urban population double up from 30% to approx. 60% in 20 years’ time.
  • Rapid urbanization threatens biodiversity, cities can be critical spaces to address this with solutions that, crucially, reconnect people with nature
  • Neo Era Infotech is collaborating with the Government of India & State Govts. on M3GC, a national initiative to support LGMA, businesses and citizens to create an urban development model that works in harmony with nature helping create Cities of Future.
  • The global challenges of the climate crisis, alarming biodiversity loss and the COVID-19 pandemic are striking reminders of how vulnerable life on earth can be.
  • Humans are part of nature, and these present challenges are largely due to our irresponsibility. If we want the planet to remain habitable, a different balance must be bridged between people and the planet with vital interventions.

Beyond Greenhouse Gasses

  • As we know that Cycling is among the greenest ways to travel, hence keeping in mind about the environmental sustainability, we must take conscious decision on replacing the use of car/bike and other vehicles to Cycle, as much as possible.
  • The conscious effort would curtail carbon emission, thereby addressing various health concerns associated with sedentary lifestyles, and possibly increasing life expectancy and benefiting the overall economy.
  • As suggested by the health activists, active travelling (walking or cycling for commuting) is considered to the most sustainable form of personal transport. Hence all the societal influencers, doctors and health advisors should promote active travel among the communities. With wider acceptance of active travelling, society can meet net zero carbon targets, particularly in urban areas. This will also promote significant health improvement and quality of urban life.
  • In one of the findings where samples were collected from 7 European cities, to understand the impact effectively, it is found that daily mobility-related life cycle CO2 emissions were 3.2 Kg CO2 per person, with car travel contributing 70% and cycling 1% (study says)
  • Research results have shown that Cyclist had 84% lower life cycle of CO2 emissions than non-cyclists. Life cycle of Co2 emission is decreased by -14% per additional cycling trip and is further decreased by -62% for each avoided car trip (study says).
  • An average person who had shifted travel modes from car to bike decreased life cycle of CO2 emissions by 3.2 Kgs CO2 per day, (study says).
